Happy HUMP DAY!
Saturday evening I ran a full mile with no pain and with a huge smile on my face. It took all of my common sense, will power, strength, and memory of my injury to stop myself after just 10 minutes of running. This was my first real run since my injury in September. I have been mostly focusing on TRX, weight training, yoga, and rehabbing my foot. I can finally see a tiny speck of light at the end of the tunnel.
I decided that for this celebratory first jog I would go somewhere beautiful & take my best-dog-friend in the world.
I never, never thought I would say this but….
TRAIL running sure beats CITY running (for the moment at least) 😉
Grace & I are great running partners because I put up with her frequent sniff stops & she puts up with my frequent pic stops.
When I hit my one mile, I was so thrilled I had to document the moment.
After that, I walked the rest of the way, for a total of 4.5 miles. Just as I was finishing, the sun was starting to set.
I am being extremely cautious to make my comeback a healthy one. This article gives some good tips on how to return after an injury.
Have you ever had a running injury?
Which do you prefer: running on city streets or trails?

Way to go lady! So proud of you for taking it slow. You will be up to speed in no time! 👟👟
Trail running can be very beautiful and it looks like you found a good one. I can hardly wait for the winter to thaw out out here in the mid-Atlantic and I can get some time in on some trails.
Trail running is THE BEST!!!! So much kinder on your body too. Very happy you are doing well… see you soon!!!
Congrats on your first run back!!
