Sweet Saturday & an 8 mile run

Hello!

Saturday means no 5 AM wakeup call, what a sweet treat!  Yesterday was a crazy day at work but it ended with such a pleasant surprise…

A gift card to one of my favorite stores!! Patients at my work can fill out little “excellent” forms when they receive good care.  At our staff meeting the forms are read out loud, and the winner is the person mentioned the most.  I love that my manager knows how head over heels in love I am with athletic gear.

My Saturday is off to a sweet start- 8 mile SUNNY & HOT (for SF) training run, street art finds, an extra-large green smoothie, and a fun giveaway/contest offered by Motion Starved! Check it out here! If you know me at all, you know that I am having the best day of my life.  What can I say, I am a simple gal 😉

If you live in San Francisco, please stop what you’re doing right now, and go outside to enjoy the sunshine and “heat”!!!  There is nothing more amazing than San Francisco, except a warm day in San Francisco.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!

Do you run on the weekends?  Long runs?  Whatever you feel like?

Where you live do you have a real (hot) summer?

Describe your perfect day (run/yoga/move, green smoothie, dark chocolate, relax, enjoy time with friends/family/loved ones.)

XO,

CS

  1. I’ll be running over an hour tomorrow, but don’t think I’ll get 8 miles in! 7 maybe…but not 8. haha and it does get hot here in Alabama, let me assure you. I’m seriously thinking about getting up way early and going downtown to run. Not sure if I will or not, but it’s a thought. Our streets are empty on a Sunday morning. Nice pics, glad you had a great run! Crazy hilly where you are…whew!

    1. Hello! I hope you are having (or had) a great run this morning!! I bet you have to get up pretty darn early to beat the heat there. There are some pretty crazy hills here. But, I have my ways of avoiding them when I don’t feel up to it haha! Thanks for reading and sharing. Keep up the good running.

  2. What’s in your green smoothie that gives you so much energy? I want some! Forgive me if you already wrote about this. We took a beautiful bike ride around Point Reyes and Olema for Dean’s birthday, but there was a cold headwind near the coast.. Glad SF had warm temps, as did Berkeley.

  3. Hi Taya! I will have to do a green smoothie post… 😉 My usual combo is kale, spinach, mango, pineapple, strawberry, unsweetened coconut flakes, coconut water, and a dash of OJ. I mix it up all the time though. That bike ride sounds fabulous & Happy Birthday to Dean!! Miss you lots.

  4. I just found your blog from olivetorun. I’m a newbie runner too! So amazing that you’re training for a marathon! I’m training for a half and just went on a long run yesterday (of course my long run was four miles). Jealous that your backdrop is San Francisco. That’s one of my favorite cities!

    1. Hi! Thanks for reading & nice to meet you!! Congrats on training for a 1/2! Will it be your first? Best of luck to you. I think the 1/2 marathon will always be my favorite distance. I love SF too (and probably will remind people of that fact way too often haha!). Keep enjoying those long runs.
