I am officially about 765 miles from home. Home, if you need the reminder, is San Francisco. Even though I no longer have a physical address in San Francisco, I truly have left my heart there. The 13+ hours of driving were successful and I arrived in one piece… this, I am grateful for. Right now, I have to try very hard to remember to count my blessings. I know there are many things to give thanks for, but I also know that my heart is hurting.
I used to sing along to songs about heartbreak and think I totally understood the pain of love and loss. I was wrong. This morning I woke up in a new state, in a bed all alone, with my life in boxes and with a knot of fear in my stomach.
So this is heartbreak…
Saying goodbye to my beautiful little house, my love, and my life in SF.
I knew going through so many changes at once was going to take a toll and I will do everything in my power to get through this time as gracefully as possible. I am glad those of you that are still reading are still with me, despite my absence and the ups & downs. From here, there is nowhere to go but up, right?!
2014 will be all about learning to adapt.
Since I missed out on a Christmas & New Year blog post I will say it now… MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Christmas was wonderful because I was with my family and I finally got to meet my beautiful baby niece. I also got to hang out with the coolest little man on the planet..aka my nephew.
I spent my last few weeks of 2013 in San Francisco, celebrating like it was 1999.
I welcome 2014 as a year of major change, heartbreak, and potential.
Here I go…
XO,
CS
